International Coalition for Working Equids

The ICWE is a coalition formed by World Horse Welfare, Brooke, SPANA and The Donkey Sanctuary. It was created to collaborate with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) in providing technical support to the OIE and to assist in implementing the new OIE Code Chapter 7.12. on the Welfare of Working Equids to all 182 OIE member states. ICWE will work with the OIE to provide training to support national government initiatives to help make these welfare standards a reality around the world.

Job Description

Project Manager at ICWE (International Coalition for Working Equids)

ICWE (International Coalition for Working Equids) has created an opportunity for an internal six month secondment. They are seeking a fixed-term Project Manager to help coordinate and produce practical guidance to help implement the OIE Chapter on the Welfare of Working Equids for the World Bank. This role will involve some travel to the USA.

The successful candidate will be required to:
- work independently and possibly remotely
- coordinate and deliver this guidance for World Bank project managers and other relevant stakeholders to enable them to design, assess and evaluate implementation of their projects on the ground.
- travel to the USA.

You will possess:
- relevant qualification in veterinary medicine and/or animal science (inclusive of animal ecology and welfare),
- previous experience of working within and/or with animals or working equids in low and middle income countries, as well as a sound knowledge of international development needs,.
- fluent in spoken and written English with excellent attention to detail.

- Salary circa £45,000 pro-rata dependent upon experience.
- Travel and accommodation where required will be provided.
