About FVE
Board of Directors 2011 - 2013

| The FVE Board consists of a President, a Treasurer
and three Vice Presidents. The Presidents and its Board are elected
for two years and can be re-elected once. The FVE Board meets several
times a year to discuss current issues and FVE's strategy. |

Robert
Huey is Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer in Northern Ireland
and a specialist in veterinary public health with a background on
farm animal clinical practice. Over the years he has gained experience
especially on veterinary public health, meat hygiene and food safety,
veterinary governance as well as on mixed practice and academic
issues.
He graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in Dublin and holds
a Diploma in Veterinary Public Health (Meat Hygiene, DVPH - MH).
He is involved in FVE issues since fifteen years as a UK representative
at UEVH and FVE level; from 2003-2007 he has been the UEVH President
and a member of several FVE working groups, chairing the FVE Welfare
at Slaughter Working Group (2006/2009) and the FVE Food Hygiene
Working Group (2003/2009 and 2011).
He has been Former President for the North of Ireland Veterinary
Association (NIVA) and for the Veterinary Public Health Association
(VPHA); from 2001 to 2004 Council Member for the British Veterinary
Association (BVA) and to date Member of the Royal College of Veterinary
Surgeons (MRCVS) of UK.
Currently he is taking part at the FVE/EAEVE programme of evaluations,
moreover he is FVE's representative at European conferences on the
modernization of meat inspection and a he is frequent speaker at
the European Commission "TAIEX" workshops and events.
