About FVE

Board of Directors 2011 - 2013
The FVE Board consists of a President, a Treasurer and three Vice Presidents. The President and its Board are elected for two years and can be re-elected once. The FVE Board meets several times a year to discuss current issues and FVE's strategy.
Rafael Laguens - Vice-President

Stephen WareRafael Laguens obtained his degree in 1979 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zaragoza, Spain. He also holds a diploma in animal health and in food technology.

He has worked as large animal practitioner since 1990 and has collaborated with the Institute of Health Sciences of Castilla Leon (ES) on teaching programs management.

Since 1999 he has been setting and managing identification databases for horses and dogs; from 2003 to 2007 he was appointed as Advisory Board Member for the Spanish Food Safety Agency and in the manwhile, since 2004, he is member of the Evaluation Committee for the Ministry of Health of Spain on veterinary continuing education.

Currently Rafael works as a Veterinary Public Health Officer in San Leonardo Soria, Spain. He is President of the Soria College of Veterinarians and Board Member of the Council of Veterinary Colleges of Spain, and also  of Castilla y León; on behalf of Spain he is in FVE since 2002.
